As the conclusion of a Europe-wide exhibition project, the exhibition examines this first, Europe-wide modern war through the strategic use of art – be it as a military propaganda tool or as an expression of power. In addition to the complex conservation of the high-quality loans, new strategies for communication and presentation had to be developed in order to present the complex connections in a comprehensible manner.
