• A castle seen through a child‘s eyes – At the table with the prince and his maid

    Special exhibition, Weesenstein Castle

    Realisation: 2026
Client: Staatlichen Schlösser Burgen und Gärten Sachsen gGmbH

As part of a multi-year German-Czech cooperation project, the first special exhibition at Weesenstein Castle explores how children from noble and servant families lived – and what was served at their tables. The exhibition offers fascinating insights into historical food culture, table manners and everyday life at the castle throughout the centuries.

Young visitors are at the heart of the exhibition concept: for the first time, the exhibition format at Weesenstein Castle has been developed consistently from a child’s perspective. Historical child characters guide visitors through the exhibition and share stories about their daily lives between festive banquets, castle kitchens and servant quarters. Interactive stations, games and sensory experiences invite visitors to discover history with all their senses – entertaining, playful and family-friendly.
