The work of cabinetmaker Jean-Pierre Latz is on display in the State Rooms of Dresden's Royal Palace Presented, which house a special exhibition for the first time. Numerous grandfather clocks and other pieces of furniture are complemented by graphics and material samples.
Reduced to the bare essentials, solitary pieces establish themselves in each room, their soothing color schemes allowing the magnificent objects to shine and confidently positioning the exhibition. A lighting concept tailored to the space and objects, with more than 200 miniature individual spotlights, highlights the furniture, despite the lack of flexible lighting in the rooms. Mirrored segments break up volumes and create a symbiosis between the rooms and the exhibition. New views of, behind, and beneath the furniture are possible, revealing otherwise hidden details.
