• Van de Velde, Nietzsche and Modernism around 1900

    Permanent exhibition, Neues Museum Weimar

    Realisation: 2019
    Client: Klassik Stiftung Weimar

On three floors of the Neues Museum Weimar, the new presentation tells no less than 50 years of Weimar cultural history, from the original idea of a “New Weimar” to the foundation of the Bauhaus.

It goes without saying, that big names of this era like van de Velde, Nietzsche and Graf Kessler, need an introduction in compliance with their achievements. In eight short shows and step-by-step, in a combination of graphics, projections and original exhibits, visitors are introduced to the protagonist’s biographies and ideals. Additionally, multi-sensory stations within the exhibition space as well as a bookbinder workshop, allow for new forms of museum mediation.
