Antiquity is encountered at every turn in Wörlitz. The first special exhibition in the Princess's House is dedicated to the many facets of this fascination with antiquity at the end of the 18th century.
With bold colors, the exhibition creates bold contrasts to the "white" antiquity. Large-format graphics transform the otherwise austere rooms into themed worlds with very different atmospheres. Impressive images of an erupting Mount Vesuvius alternate with mirrored walls, bringing visitors and the god Apollo closer together. Colorful markings in the outdoor space link the exhibition to the sculptures, stones and buildings in the park.
